Another Week Bites the Dust

Hi all! I’d like to say that the semester is winding down and coming to a close but it seems only to be winding up in a rush to the finish. It is Easter weekend but I’m not in a holiday mood. I have a Philosophy exam tomorrow morning and have not studied sufficiently, so the holiday festivities with my family that will ensue after my shift at work will only be a nuisance for me because I won’t be studying.

A week ago today I finished my second paper for the Writing for Multiple Media class. I’d like to believe that it turned out better than my first paper but I can’t be too sure. I also wrote my British Literature paper last week which need only be four pages yet I ended up on the eighth page. I don’t know why I do things like that to myself. Anyways, the WMM media paper took a lot more time to complete due to the need for scholarly sources. Most of my sources were hitting double digits in page numbers and took awhile to read, however, I found most of them to be quite compelling and I think I pulled out some useful information about multi-modality and our technological future.

Speaking of technological future, I am currently typing this blog post on my first ever tablet and detachable fintie keyboard. The tablet is a Samsung TAB-E and so far has been a little weird getting used to considering I have never been an Andriod girl. The reason I ended up with such a piece of equipment is because I finally broke away from my mom’s phone plan and have begun paying my own phone bill through Verizon. Seeing as how I’ll be 20 in less than a month my mom and I decided it was time for me to take on further responsibilities. When we were at the Verizon store sorting out our new payment plans the sales lady, who was certainly good at her job, talked me into taking the Samsung tablet deal that Verizon was offering. I expressed my concern about having a Mac phone, HP Laptop, and now Samsung tablet because I’d be lost in all the differing interfaces. She assured me something as simple as Google Drive would help me keep my school assignments organized and accessible on all my devices. I was weary but I trusted her and took the deal. It has been okay thus far except it took me awhile to discover the difference between Google Drive and One Drive by Microsoft, but I doubt I’ll make the same mistake twice.

Aside from paper writing for WMM its detrimental that I keep in contact with my group’s clients. I emailed our first client to update her on our ideas to purchase a domain through a third party. I sent the email Wednesday and have not yet received a reply. Although I’m concerned for our project I am also beginning to worry about our client considering we haven’t heard from her since before we sent her our proposal. I’m beginning to worry about her well being.

Our group presentations are 30 days away and I’m feeling a tad better about where my group is headed. We have nearly all of the new recipes re-written on our Google Doc so it is just a matter of including them on the WIX site and purchasing the domain. I am also going to email CGA today and set up a meeting with one of their members to get a better idea of what Huskies Helping Huskies might do to be recognized as an actual campus organization. Although, becoming an organization may not be in HHH’s future it would be useful to talk with CGA to find out for sure. If they do think it could become an organization I lack confidence in the ability to set that up prior to April 30th, but perhaps the next HHH group would pick up where we left off.
