Publishing

On this page you will find examples of work I have done for two different campus publications. One of the highlighted experiences includes the work I completed for the 2019 and 2020 editions of the annual Student Literary and Arts Journal, Warren. I also include examples of the newspaper page layouts I have designed as the Opinions/Editorial Editor at The Voice.

After completing an internship with Bloomsburg University's Literary and Art Journal the previous year, I was asked to be the Lead Design Editor for the 2020 edition of the journal. In addition to my previous year's duties, I was the sole designer of the 2020 journal. I collaborated with fellow editors and took suggestions into consideration before developing the final product on Adobe InDesign. I learned an extensive amount about the publishing process and found a passion within this line of work.

For my internship experience, I was chosen to be one of five editors for Bloomsburg University's Student Literary and Art Journal, Warren. I selected the winning literary and art submissions, organized the website, and gave input on the design and layout of the journal.

As the Opinions/Editorial Editor for The Voice it was my job to solicit articles from fellow students, edit the articles, write articles as needed, and create two pages worth of content. I was responsible for completing these duties on a weekly basis which resulted in fourteen publications by each semester's conclusion. I have learned a great deal about time management, writing for publication, editing, Adobe InDesign, teamwork, and organization outreach through this position at The Voice. Below is a slideshow of a few of my best page layouts that I have designed. Feel free to flip through the previews using the arrows or download the PDFs for a full view of each page.
